Mission Statement
Flora Macdonald Legacy Foundation
The Flora Macdonald Legacy Foundation (the “Foundation”) is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization whose mission is (i) to preserve and promote the rich history of the famous Scottish heroine Flora Macdonald, who came to the Cape Fear region of North Carolina in 1774, (ii) to encourage through education the study of Scottish culture, especially in the Arts, and (iii) to explore how this culture was influenced and continues to be influenced and expanded by the rich tapestry of cultures existing in the region. Through the work of this foundation, special attention will be drawn to the historical significance of the Flora Macdonald Campus and to the individuals and institutions that have been and continue to be associated with it.
