(Carrboro, NC) As soon as we landed in the Carolinas we headed to Carrboro for a contra dance hosted by the Triangle Country Dancers. We were especially pleased that Louie Cromartie was calling! Photograph is actually from another dance. We were so tired when we got there that we forgot to take a picture. We also had an opportunity to meet DeeDee Laurilliard who we are honed to have serving as a member of our Dance Community Liaison Committee. (Southern Pines/Pinehurst, NC) After meeting with Flora Macdonald College graduate and Alumna Liaison for the Flora Macdonald Ball, Becky Williams Bracey, we ventured over to The Carolina. While our mission was of course to spread the word about the ball we couldn't help but take a few minutes to enjoy the azaleas and the wrap around porch of this hotel build in 1901.

ON THE ROAD AGAIN! July 2006: The Flora Macdonald Ball took to the road again -- this time ending their tour at Thistle School and the Grandfather Mountain Highland Games.
On board for this tour were: Charlotte Bennett who is serving as a Jr. Apprentice with the Ball and who made the rounds to various groups dressed as a young version of the famous heroine; the husband and wife team of Ginger Powers (Vardell Hall Alumna) and Maurice Robertson (President of Cape Fear Valley Scottish Clan Society); and, Gaitley Stevenson-Mathews (Scottish Country Dancer and Co-Chair of Ball).
 Charlotte Bennett (as Young Flora) Ginny "Ginger" Powers (Vardell Hall Alumna) meets the REAL Flora. No, NOT Flora and husband Maurice Robertson (President of Macdonald the famous heroine who Cape Fear Valley Scottish Clan Society) help saved Bonnie Prince Charles but spread the word! Flora Macdonald Gammon the famous contemporary Scottish Singer/Musician.
 Scottish country dancer and Ball Gaitley and "Flora" stopped by the Clan McNeill tent Co-Chair, Gaitley Stevenson-Mathews, where Jim McNeill and Dan McNeill obliged them meets with Flora Macdonald College by posing for a photograph--bashful bunch those McNeills! Alumna, Gladys McCain Kerr, in Clan McNeill will feature an article on "Sailor Hector" in Historic Waxhaw, NC. their national publication. "Sailor Hector" is a new tune (by John Turner) and dance (by Stella Fogg and Moira Turner) that has been commissioned by the Flora Macdonald Legacy Foundation in tribute to "Sailor" Hector McNeill the founder of Red Springs, NC.
